Biografía Francisco-Antonio MoyaAlthough born in Valdepeñas, Francisco-Antonio Moya is a native of Villahermosa (Ciudad Real).

Since 2008 he has been the main conductor of the Orquesta Filarmónica de La Mancha "OFMAN", with which he has carried out intense artistic activity during the 13 seasons he has been in charge of the orchestra. He is also the Musical Director of the Lyric Companies "Producciones Telón" and "Camerata Lírica de España" with which he has conducted operas such as Lucia di Lammermoor, Il Trovatore, La Traviata, Nabucco, Rigoletto, L'Elisir d'amore, Trouble in Tahití, Carmen, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Aida, Cavalleria Rusticana, Don Giovanni, not to mention Zarzuela titles such as La del Manojo de Rosas, La Canción del Olvido, La Rosa del Azafrán, Doña Francisquita, Los Gavilanes. He has also conducted soloists such as María José Moreno (Soprano), Ruth Iniesta (Soprano), Gema Scabal (Soprano), María Ruiz (Soprano), Milagros Poblador (Soprano), Beatriz Lanza (Mezzosoprano), Lorena Valero (Mezzosoprano), Enrique Ferrer (Tenor), Israel Lozano (Tenor), Miguel Borrallo (Tenor), Antonio Torres (Baritone), Luis Cansino (Baritone), Helena Mikhailova (Violin), Óscar de Manuel (Flute), Abraham Cupeiro (Ethnic instruments), etc.

He has conducted at the Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao, the National Auditorium in Madrid, the Cervantes Theatre in Malaga, the Teatro Rojas in Toledo, the Circo Theatre in Albacete, Revellín Theatre in Ceuta, Kursaal Theatre in Melilla, Valdés Palace in Avilés, the Garcia Barbon Theatre in Vigo, Gayarre Theatre in Pamplona, Calderón Theatre in Valladolid. Moya has further conducted orchestras including the Bard University Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Bulgarian Festival Orchestra, the 430 Orchestra of Vigo, the Orchestra of the Royal Northern College of Music and the Orchestra of the Community of Madrid.

With the Philarmonic Orchestra of La Mancha(OFMAN) , he has created and developed projects such as the Mesías Participativo, international music performance competition, the Opera Studio, which takes place within the Ciclo de Conciertos Infantes Música, and the Estudio de Zarzuela, which takes place in the town of Torralba de Calatrava.

The Conservatories of Ciudad Real, Valencia and Madrid formed the basis of his musical training, in addition to other institutions such as Bard College in New York, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, the Royal Northern College in Manchester and the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg. He has obtained advanced degrees in Saxophone, Composition, and Conducting. For the latter, he received lessons from Leon Botsein, Hapo Hsu, Ennio Nicotra, Ben Zander, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Miquel Ortega, Tulio Gagliardo, Miguel Romea and Enrique García Asensio, to name but a few. For orchestral ensembles, he has transcribed the Second Symphony by G. Mahler, the Second Symphony by J. Brahms and the Symphonic Suites of Carmen, among others.

During his time as a teacher, he passed the selection stages and gained entry to the Conservatory in the specialities of Saxophone and Fundamentals of Composition, as well as Orchestra Conducting for the Chair of the Higher Conservatories of the Community of Madrid. Having recently completed his research on the impact of gesture on sound at the International University of Valencia, Moya is currently working on his doctoral thesis on a comparative study of different conducting techniques.
